  6. Memory
  7. Back-up drive(s)

Now that you have a server and/or network up and running, you want it to stay running. Our monitoring service will watch over your system, we can be paged by your server to our cell phone(s). This monitoring system can let us know if there is a problem before you may know of any. An inexpensive service, a peace of mind for you.

Desktops:

Whether you need a new one, an upgrade, or repairs, CompuNet can help you make the right decision. We are A+  certified - we asses each system, and recommend solutions that save you money. Since we don’t sell parts and supplies, except for UPS’s (we order what our customers need). You will not be sold anything that you don’t need. All this, and we come to you.

Wiring / Networking Equipment:

The hardware, i.e., wiring, patch panel(s), and jacks used on a network must be certified. Following wiring codes when wiring panels and jacks, and testing finished networks with proper testing equipment is essential. Cable set too close to electrical wiring can cause interference and data disturbance. If you need to have Cat 5 cable outside, an exterior rated Cat 5 cable must be used. CompuNet will design a cable infrastructure to suit your needs.

UPS: Uninterruptible Power System

A UPS is the most unsung component in your system. Maritime Electric recommends  power protection at all power sources. Experience has taught us that power protection is an absolute must. A “surge suppressor” does not suffice in most locations. Due to the demand of a good UPS, CompuNet supplies PowerWare and CyberPower UPS’.  PowerWare has great  “online” UPS’ that use a double-conversion design ensuring  continuous, “clean” power. The series 9  UPS’s provide protection for all 9 power related issues. We recommend these units for all our servers. CyberPower is a great choice for desktops. They have an Advanced Voltage Regulation (AVR) system that provides excellent cost effective protection. The reason CompuNet became resellers for these products is worth noting. We knew what we wanted for our customers, but found the products hard to get on PEI. So we went out, found a supplier for the products and became a reseller. CompuNet can now supply you with a UPS at a great price.

Firewalls / VPNs:

A hardware based firewall / VPN is the best. They are much more secure than a software based firewall. There are many firewall / VPN solutions available, for example a low-cost Dlink, or Linksys, off the shelf unit, may be all you need You may need a more robust business unit, like a Netgear ProSafe, MiLan, Motorola 3Com,or a Watchgaurd Firebox. Maybe a full Cisco solution is what you need, CompuNet will help. I have set many VPN systems / tunnels, with great results.
